4 Ways to Get Rid of Bad Breath

By

Making a great first impression is a great way to get a job, make new friends, and thrive in most social situations. Although some of us don’t think about it often, scent is a very powerful sense and it helps us create impressions about each other. It is also nostalgic in the nous that it is strong enough to evoke memories.

So when you develop an issue with bad breath (or perhaps you just had a lot of garlic and onions for lunch), there is some logic behind your self-conscious behavior. How can you get rid of that bad breath? Well, let’s go over some of the ways that we can deal with this embarrassing issue.

Brush Your Teeth

Yes, this does seem a bit obvious, doesn’t it? It still has to be mentioned because it is the best thing that you can do for a bad breath problem. I like to keep an extra travel toothbrush and small tube of toothpaste in my car, lunch bag, and desk.

Remember to brush your tongue and the roof of your mouth. These are two places that get overlooked often. However, those nasty halitosis germs like to stick to those fleshy parts of your tongue and then stick to the roof of your mouth.

Drink Lots of Water

Water can wash away those nasty germs and food particles that cause bad breath. Water is great for helping you smell good overall anyway. It helps flush away toxins that cause germs and bacteria to build up. It helps you sweat more (which will help flush out your pores), urinate (which will flush out your insides), and help you salivate (which will help fight against bad breath).

Zinc Chlorine

When you use a mouthwash, you want to kill off all the bacteria in your mouth, right? So how can you kill off bacteria? Look for a mouthwash that contains zinc chlorine. Most mouthwashes contain mostly alcohol but it’s the zinc chlorine that you really want to look for. If you don’t want to look at every single label in the store, take a gander at the colors of the mouthwash and grab the bottles that have a rich green or blue hue (that’s a big clue), then look at the labels.

Apples and Green Tea

Both apples and green tea are high in polyphenol which is a type of antioxidant. This specific type of antioxidant helps fight halitosis by inhibiting bad breath causing bacteria to grow and multiply in your mouth. So if you feel as though you need a freshening up, grab and apple or an unsweetened (or lightly sweetened) cup of green tea.
